I teach basic English in a small institute. how ever, we have an American teacher who is suffering alot of some mentalities. he mentioned this story to me from when he was teaching at the navy:

The first class i was giving, another teacher was helping me. I told him i can handle it my self but he insisted on helping saying ( watch ).

Other teacher shouted: Those of you who know how to write their names in English, gather around here.

Only 3 people gathered and they seemed not so sure. then he shouted: now, those of you who know how to write their names in Arabic, gather around here.

About 11 people gathered, some of them were cheating their names off their badges! then he shouted: those of you who do not know how to write their names at all, gather around here.

Surprisingly, about 70% of the class gathered.

then he shouted: those of you who do not know their names at all, gather around here. ( he did get 2 of them! )

Finally, he shouted: The rest of you come with me! ( Yes, there were a couple of them! )
